1、 Working principle

The metal mesh filter is a primary protective filtering device at the front end of the coating system, mainly assembled by stacking multiple layers of metal wire mesh with different mesh sizes. The airflow containing dust and paint mist flows through the metal mesh layer, relying on the physical interception and inertial collision of the metal mesh to block and separate large particles of paint mist, metal debris, and fiber debris in the airflow. Some models of mesh are made into wavy and wrinkled structures to increase the contact area and enhance the ability to capture debris. The intercepted paint mist and dust drip and settle downwards under the action of gravity, making it easier to collect and clean. The overall equipment is assembled with a metal frame, which has good temperature and impact resistance, is not easily damaged by airflow, and there is no risk of filter material burning. The filter is easy to disassemble and assemble, and can be cleaned and blown to remove attached dirt, achieving repeated use. It is generally installed at the front end of the air inlet and exhaust of the paint booth, or at the inlet of the fan, to block large particles and impurities, protect the precision filter elements and fan impeller at the back end, and avoid equipment damage caused by large debris.

3、 Application scope

The metal mesh filter solves the problem of fibers, large particle paint mist, and debris directly entering the backend equipment, causing rapid blockage of precision filter materials and wear of fan impellers. It is the first coarse filtration protection of the coating system. Widely used in construction machinery paint booths, tank container painting lines, rail transit component painting, automotive parts painting, metal sheet metal painting, air inlet protection for drying equipment, and front-end pre-treatment for exhaust gas treatment systems. Under spray painting conditions, the airflow carries a large amount of paint mist droplets and debris. If there is a lack of pre coarse filtration, large particles of paint mist will directly block the high-efficiency filter, shorten the service life of the precision filter element, and increase the cost of consumables. The metal mesh filter has excellent temperature resistance and can also be used in the air inlet of drying ovens and thermal cleaning equipment to block debris from entering the furnace chamber.
